Canandaigua is located about 30 miles southeast of Rochester in western New York. If you're not familiar with the area, the easiest way to get to the Festival is to take I 90 to exit 44 and go straight south on Hwy 332 to Canandaigua. (see the map on the left)

Hwy 332 is also Main Street and runs straight south through historic downtown Canandaigua to the waterfront area. To get to the Festival, continue south across Hwy 5 & 20 onto Lakeshore Drive. The road curves to the left and the festival is just a block down on the right. (see the map on the right)

The files attached below contain lists of area lodgings and restaurants.  The image at the bottom shows the  layout of the festival within the park.

The free offsite parking area.is at FLCC parking lot G, along East Lake Road. The shuttle bus runs between  FLCC and the Festival about every 1/2 hour during Festival hours with the last run about between 5:15 & 5:30 on Saturday and 4:15 & 4:30 on Sunday.

The Waterfront Art Festival was started 37 years ago on the Canandaigua City Pier as an opportunity for a few local artists to show and sell their work. The Festival continued to grow and was moved a couple of blocks to Kershaw Park.

Today, the Festival has a well earned reputation as the highest quality, small festival in western New York. It's the best of both worlds - big enough to offer a fantastic selection of original, high quality work but still small enough to be  friendly and comfortable.

Almost 10% of the artists have participated for over 20 years and a few are close to or over 30 years now.  The area residents have also made attending the Festival a tradition. Many families gather in from all over the country to enjoy reconnecting and seeing old friends at the Festival.
